Privacy Policy - The Multitrack Player

This Privacy Policy describes how The Multitrack Player ("we", "our" or "the application") collects, uses, and protects the information of users ("you" or "user") of our iOS mobile application.

By using The Multitrack Player, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the application.

The application displays ads through Google AdMob. Depending on your choice in the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) consent dialog:

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), advertising consent is managed through the Google UMP (User Messaging Platform) SDK, which presents GDPR-compliant consent forms.

The application includes a tutorial section that embeds videos via a YouTube player (WKWebView). YouTube is operated by Google LLC and may collect data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Authentication: Verify your identity and manage your session
  • Functionality: Provide application features (audio playback, track management, pitch transposition)
  • Advertising: Display relevant ads through Google AdMob. If you allow tracking (ATT), ads may be personalized. If you deny, non-personalized ads will be shown instead.
  • Export: Process your multitrack project locally on your device to generate an audio file in the format you choose
  • Service Improvement: Analyze application usage to improve user experience
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues
  • Communication: Send important notifications about the application (if applicable)

4. Sharing Information with Third Parties

4.1 Third-Party Services

Google AdMob:

  • Provider: Google LLC
  • Purpose: Advertising — displaying banner and interstitial ads within the application
  • Data collected: Advertising Identifier (IDFA) if the user accepts ATT; device information for ad targeting

  • Note: If you deny tracking in the ATT dialog, AdMob will only show non-personalized ads without using the IDFA

4.2 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities.

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Local Storage

  • Application data is stored locally on your device using CoreData and UserDefaults
  • Audio files remain on your device and are not synced with external servers
  • Exported audio files are generated entirely on your device and are only shared externally when you explicitly choose to do so via the iOS share sheet

5.2 Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information:

  • Use of secure protocols (HTTPS) for communications
  • Secure storage of session data
  • Authentication through trusted services (Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple)

However, no method of Internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

  • Session data: Retained while your session is active or until you log out
  • Local data: Retained on your device until you uninstall the application or manually delete the data
  • Analytics data: Managed by Firebase according to their retention policies

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we have about you
  • Rectify: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Revoke consent: Log out and stop using the application at any time

To exercise these rights, you can:

  • Log out from the application
  • Delete your account through the Account screen in the app (see Section 7.1)
  • Uninstall the application to delete all local data

7.1 Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly from within the application:

  • How: Go to Account Settings → Delete Account
  • What happens: Your account will be permanently deleted immediately
  • Data deleted:
    • Your authentication credentials
    • All multitracks, tracks, and audio files associated with your account
    • All personal data stored in the application
    • Session information
  • Timeline: Immediate deletion from the application and local storage
  • Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation message once deletion is complete

Note: This action cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently removed.

8. Children's Privacy

The Multitrack Player is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, where data protection laws may differ. By using the application, you consent to these transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through:

Contact Information:

  • Email address (linked to user identity)

Identifiers:

  • User ID (linked to user identity)

Usage Data:

  • Product interactions — multitrack/track/playlist names, playback actions, pitch and volume adjustments (linked to user identity)
  • Export activity — format and duration (linked to user identity)
  • Diagnostic data (linked to user identity)

Location:

  • Approximate location (country and city) — derived automatically by Firebase from device locale and IP address (linked to user identity)

Data Used to Track You: Yes — Advertising Identifier (IDFA / Device ID) when the user accepts the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) dialog. If denied, the IDFA is not used and no cross-app tracking occurs.

  • Device Identifier (IDFA) — used by Google AdMob for personalized advertising

13. Additional Declarations

  • We do not collect financial information: The application does not process payments or store credit card information
  • We do not access contacts: We do not request access to the device's contact list
  • We do not access location: We do not collect geographic location data
  • We do not access camera/photos: We only access audio files through the system document picker
  • Optional ad tracking: The application requests tracking permission (ATT) to show personalized ads through Google AdMob. If you deny this permission, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized and the IDFA will not be used. You can change this preference at any time in Settings → Privacy → Tracking.
  • In-app browser: The chord browser can load any external website; those websites may have their own tracking technologies that are outside our control
